The 2011 DB Pro/AM took place at Dash Point in Federal Way, Washington. The skimboarding contest featured riders from Washington and British Columbia. Tons of sick tricks were thrown down for the spectators at Dash Point. Issac Thomas took first in the pro division with Blake Zimmerman right behind him in the standings.

This Saturday, August 6th, DB will be holding our annual Chamber’s Creek Throwdown! Chamber’s Creek is definitely the more laid back of our two annual comps and provides for a legit time in one of the best skim settings around. The deep water conditions at Chambers Creek make for great opportunities for ollie-on features, slant walls, trash cans and pipes. The weather forecast is looking amazing so far (knock on wood) so be sure to come enjoy the sun with the DB crew!

SKIMusicFEST is a skimboard competition infused with a music festival held at Double Bluff beach. People have been skimboarding Double Bluff since the early 70′s. This tradition has been passed down through the generations. This event offers a great opportunity for riders from all over to come together and throw it down with friendly stoked out locals. With locally handmade glass trophies, live music all day long, and delicious bbq snacks you can’t go wrong.

Pacific Northwest hip-hop artist Common Market is set to perform at the Jack’d SkimMusicFest on Whidbey Island July 30, 2011. The diverse lineup of musicians will include internationally acclaimed artist Common Market, reggae by Adrian Xavier, hip hop by Tulsi and many other local groups from the island.

Location
Whidbey Island is located 25 miles northwest of Seattle in the arm pit of the Puget Sound. Whidbey is accessible by either a ferry or bridge connection. Double Bluff beach is located on the South end of the island about 15 minutes from the Clinton ferry dock.

Ferry Access to the Island
A ferry departs from the Mukilteo ferry dock every 30 minutes. To catch the ferry follow the Mukilteo/Whidbey Island exit off I-5 (#189/Hwy 525) straight to the ferry dock. After a 20-minute ride, the ferry arrives at Clinton on south Whidbey Island. After departing the ferry head northwest on WA-525 S (about 8 miles) until you reach Double Bluff Rd. Deception Pass Bridge
From I-5 take exit 230 toward Burlington/Anacortes /WA-20 and continue about 11 miles then turn left towards Oak Harbor/ Pt.Townsend Ferry/ WA-20 West. Towards the end of Oak Harbor turn right on WA-20 West/ West Pioneer Way. Continue on this route which turns into WA-525S, until you reach Double Bluff Rd where you will turn right and continue to the end of the road where Double Bluff beach is located.

Shuttle
Double Bluff beach parking only accommodates about 15 cars, due to these restraints we will be offering a shuttle from a local park and ride about 5 minutes away at SR 525 & Bayview Rd. We recommend using the shuttle to avoid any inconveniences. The shuttle will leave for Double Bluff every ½ hour from Bayview park and ride beginning at 10:00am until 4:00pm.
